Cliff's Drilling Ltd. abides by all of Montana's strict water well construction standards. The top twenty feet of our wells include bentonite grout and steel casing to protect your well from contaminants.
Q: How are water wells protected from surface contaminants? A: Cliff's Drilling Ltd. Abides by all of Alberta's strict water well construction standards. When using PVC casing, the last five feet of surface hole is drilled slightly undersized relative to the OD of the casing ("under reamed hole"). The casing is lowered into the surface hole. The last five feet of the surface hole is called a "under reamed hole", the casing is driven into the under reamed hole in bedrock the last five feet. This creates a very good seal. After the casing is set and the well has been drilled, a PVC liner is used, and is placed from bottom of the well to 10 feet into the surface casing. Special rubber packers are used to zone off the bottom of the surface casing creating a mechanical secondary seal. When steel casing is used it is driven into the bed rock to create a seal.
Q: How much water is needed to run an average household? A: A good house well should produce 10-15 gallons per minute. However some area's do not have that much water and make due with 3gpm, which still works quite well for a family house hold. Many people do have wells with much less and can still manage with as little as 3/4gpm.
Q: How long is the warranty on a pump system installed by Cliff's Drilling Ltd. ? A: All of the 4.5" Jacuzzi J-Class submersible pumps we sell come with a 5 year factory warranty against defects, lightning strikes and pretty much anything that could possibly happen to the pump. (See J-Class pumps under LINKS at the top of the page)
